When your blades sail along the ice, you feel like you are flying. Ice skating hasn’t changed that much over the years. Once you get over the wobbles and gain confidence, there is nothing like it. Love these old images. Hope they inspire you to go to the rink or out on a lake if you are lucky enough to live near an outdoor skating venue. (Click on a pic to see larger image.)
“Smart as a smacking sea breeze.
Colors as fast as Gilbralter.
Patterns as gay as Paris.”
I do love the swimsuit in this vintage ad from Photoplay. And it must fit great with the “Loop of Life.”
Get inspired. Eat right. Work out. Enjoy your fit figure.
I can’t get you a link to Bradley swimwear, but I did find a ton of cool retro striped swimsuits on Amazon.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could wash away fat? And “years of age” as well? But this soap would only work if we used it jumping around an Aqua Fitness class. This vintage ad for La-Mar Reducing soap ran in a London paper. I freshened it up in Photoshop.
Ladies, if you want to come down the staircase slimmer like the woman pictured, you going to have to hit the gym before you hit the tub with the fancy soap.
I love the money-back guarantee. I wonder how many buyers sent back their soap.
I put this design on a soap dispenser set on Zazzle.
Welcome! I hope you find Vintage Fit amusing and motivational.
I am a graphic designer in Claremont CA.
I designed our lovely lady on the left with the barbells. The image on the right is from on a old Life magazine article.
I like to put an ironic twist on vintage ads and photos and create my own retro artwork. One of my clients is a women’s gym, and I found women get a kick out of seeing sexist advertising turned on its face.
Some of my artwork is available on merchandise in my Zazzle shop.
I welcome ideas for new graphics. The online portfolio for my freelance graphic design business in Claremont can be found at this link.
Don’t go crazy. Go to the gym. And get this tote bag to take with you.
